COLUMBUS SHOW CANCELLED 20 February 2010

My sincerest apologies that we had to cancel tonight’s performance at Outland on Liberty. Unfortunately the promoter and venue were not able to provide us with a working sound system. We tried all we could to make it work, but in the end had to make this tough decision.

Please contact your place of purchase for refunds and more information.

thanks for the poster/print, it’s really a great piece of art. Waiting in line for it delayed my trip home long enough to keep me out of a huge wreck that happened in front of me on the interstate, so thanks for that too.

So sad, drove in from Cleveland for the show. Wish I would have grabbed a poster, didn’t even see them. Oh well, come back to the Beachland Ballroom soon!

Oh Annie – don’t despair. Come back to again … Columbus loves you! I still have sweet memories from 4 months ago when you opened for Andrew Bird at the Southern Theatre. There were some special moments … still playing in my head. St. Vincent is amazing.
Don’t take the blame – the manager of Outland on Liberty (Matt?) didn’t even have the decency to make an announcement to ticket holders waiting outside to get in the venue. [sigh]

Not your fault! We, the people, understand. The good news is that you have truly found your calling, so you will be playing many shows for us, the masses, in times to come. Best of luck and a safe journey to you and the crew ahead!

We’re not mad, but we’re certainly disappointed. PLEASE come back soon, we await you with open arms.

Come back soon! It’s the right thing to do.

I’ve seen you everytime you came to Columbus. I was so excited for months waiting for your appearance at Outland. Dispointed? Yes! Not with you but Outland. Hope to see you at Pitchfork Festival. Love ya

We made you a video on behalf of Columbus.

Made the 2+ hour drive to see this show. Sadly, I admit that it would’ve been my first. The good news is that Columbus has SO much more going on that where I live, it wasn’t a complete loss. I wish I had seen the posters and grabbed one. With any luck, I’ll see you in Cincy on the 31st of next month. Looking forward to it.

Man, that was pretty frustrating for all parties. My wife had arranged our trip from Indianapolis (about 3 hr 15 min drive) complete with hotel stay and a babysitter for my birthday. I can certainly live with the cancellation, those things happen. But, the club acted so irresponsibly.

In the end, I guess we’re all left hoping that in the event you extend your tour a return trip through the midwest could happen (may I suggest Indianapolis as a destination).

In any case, I sure appreciated your being forthright when the club certainly was not.

Cheers.

I was thinking of driving down to see this. Good thing I caught the show the night before in Pontiac instead! A wonderful performance witnessed and enjoyed from the very front. Follow the link to catch a glimpse of what you missed filmed by yours truly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B769xn9ee1E

oh Annie!!!! I saw you with andrew bird and wanted so much more!!! was so stoked about your headlining tour… I had heard about outland on liberty, and was surprised they were setting you up there… promowestlive.com is where i thought you would have been booked!!! I know people that work there and they are wonderful! I almost illustrated a concert poster for the show too, but it never happened. Tell your promoter!!! so sad to miss you, look forward to seeing you!!! maybe in knoxville!!!!

Such Bull Shit. You worthless sacs could have played. I heard the sound and it was fine. Don’t bother coming back to Columbus.

Tom Lawson 8 March 2010, 22:06

That’s fine. Come back soon.

Annie,I feel your pain.I used to be in a local band and finding a club in columbus that is intimate enough but with good sound is really hard.If you find a place with good sound you also have to hope the sound guy is interested or he’ll listen to his ipod while your sound is horrible. Promowest is ok but i still have fond memories of shows at the newport when i was young, but most of the bands i’ve wanted to see have played elsewhere in c- bus and i was actually surprised to hear that you were going to be at outland. Anyway sorry to hear that and thanks again for making my girlfriend’s birthday special at the big room.
