Also curious about the reverse-Costello. His was a dig at big corporate media and their TV shills. Maybe Annie’s was an acknowledgement of good sponsorship? Maybe we’re all just overthinking?
Great performance. I find it hard to respect musicians who just play the same thing the same way in every context—that’s why Annie is so wonderful—every show is different and genius often flashes.
