my friend, amanda palmer’s, record came out a couple days ago. we do a kooky duet of rogers and hammerstein’s abusive classic, “what’s the use of wonderin’.” yay! buy/stream/google/download/ichat/youtube/yousendit.
also, please media, camille paglia, stop calling sarah palin a feminist hero. it’s too distressing/depressing.

Sarah Palin is guilty of lying about her opposition to legislative earmarks such as Alaska’s “bridge to nowhere”; guilty of cronyism in appointing high school classmates to high-paying positions in her administration; guilty of using private e-mail accounts to conduct government business to avoid any possible public disclosure; and guilty of being grossly hypocritical in not practicing the religious values to which she professes to follow – just another a la carte Christian. Camille’s “brand new muscular American feminist” proves that women in politics can be just as corrupt as any man. What a breakthrough for women. You’re right – it is too depressing!

amen, a nona miss.
remember in high school when guys would have pamela anderson life-scale posters on their walls and/or ceilings? sarah is the adult version for the republican neocon agenda. automatic rifle in hand, standing over a freshly slain deer, unblinking.
thanks, but no thanks, sarah palin.

My dear, you could probably make a fortune selling those posters! I think the real achievement for women in politics will be when FEMINISTS can begin to look past gender and focus solely on qualifications like experience, character, integrity, etc. Until then, it’s just stereotypes as usual. Camille, herself, has a long way to go. Ironically, I think Tina Fey is a better role model for the feminist ideal. If you haven’t seen the SNL skewer of Sarah Palin, check it out at nbc.com/snl.

It’s a given but seriously, your voice is absolutely stunning on that cover.

I must admit, when I heard you were guesting on WKAP?, I did NOT expect that result… but that was the plan, huh? And it mostly worked :)

I agree with everything you’ve ever said or ever will say.

KateRhoades, that’s a scary statement. You need to think for yourself, and hopefully both you and she will evolve intellectually.
As to the Palin comment, I’m sorry that you guys think this way, especially in light of the Kennedy ordeal. I know music is mostly a bastion of liberal thought, but sometimes it’s just too one dimensional.
I still like your music.

Well, this hasn’t too much to do with Sarah Palin. I have to say that I am listening to Amanda Palmer for the first time right now and I think that she sounds great… I just wished that all you great musicians out of the “commercial market” would come around Europe (Spain!!) some time soon! I’m expecting news about your tour dates… where can I find them?
I love your music, you’re awesome.

i saw both the music videos for “What’s the Use of Wondrin’” by Amanda, and i love them both. especially the second one, which included a lovely Sweeney Todd-esque suprise to it, but i do often wonder why you do not appear in either (especially the second one, where there is another woman with amanda). we hear you singing, but we see someone else! where is annie?
i love you 18 April 2009, 02:06
