oh man… i watched her butcher one of my favorite Neutral Milk Hotel songs on youtube! this cover isn’t too bad, though.

Love the Dresden Dolls, but the original is much better.

Beautiful cover.

I have to say I’m quite sad though. We need some better shows back here in Tulsa. You should talk to someone about that….and when i say this i mean…..please come to tulsa. haha
You’re brilliant.

much love

I can’t believe you came to australia and didn’t even do any solo shows…
would we be able to lure you back with the promise of sweet* sweet* vegemite?

*n.b. vegemite is the antithesis of all things sweet.

Soon as I saw that Amanda Palmer was a friend and covered one of your songs, I thought…hunh, I wonder if she knows Jason Webley (one of my other favorite musicians) through that connection.

And then I watched the video, and there he was playing the accordion and passing out pizza boxes…which doesn’t answer the question of whether or not you know him, but it was still wonderfully weird to see that link between two artists I’d never imagined Would be linked.

weeeee!

I do the “awake at 3:30 in the morning” sans any Japan tour! so there.

damn, the Bowery show’s already sold out! the russian cotingent will have to be pulling some serious mafia strings.

p.s. and yeah, the original is better.

I just wanted to say—You’re beautiful! I was at the show last night in Seattle and you were stunning and I think I still have goosebumps. Please come back soon-next time I’m sure i’ll have to come see you at the Paramount or something like that! Have fun on tour.

what a fantastic cover – her voice is weirdly well-suited to the song I think. she gives it more of a traditional sound but it still works.
i love stuff like this, when two sets of people you like use each other’s ideas – it convinces me my musical taste isnt completely insane.
